ART NEEDS COMMUNITY

I'll say it again

GO. DEVELOP. COMMUNITY

Why spend time doing art alone when you can find a group of chaotic individuals just like yourself to create with? But on some real shit, the pandemic has had lasting effects on how we socialize as a society. To this day I still notice people who may be feeling the hesitancy of getting out there. To continue through their dreams and passions despite the world going on around us. I see and relate to you all, hell sometimes I still feel hesitancy to get back out there, but I want you and me to look at this differently. It is our right to stand up for what we believe in and what we do.

For me it was art. For you, it may be a sport. If it hurts people, well your just a bitch. But find something that motivates and pushes you to do better. Not only does this help with your fulfillment but it also with one's confidence. The energy and dedication you put in yourself will also start rubbing off on the relationship you have with others.

Why do I mention this? Because these are some of the cornerstones for building a community.

In a world like ours community seems to have come second to the pursuit of money and personal gain, and look around you for the effects of it. We are social creatures, coming together and resolving conflict is what pushes us as a society. Struggle breeds innovation and creativity, it is now up to us on whether or not we use it for good or not. We've seen a multitude of times what happens when the wrong individual gets into a position of power, the only way to control that is to have strong-minded and willed individuals to keep the power balanced.

It is a daunting task though, one that will require a lot of trial and tribulations but always remember what you create for. Establish a core set of beliefs so that when issues do rise, you and your community can effectively deal with it.
